In the city of Cairo alone, a baby is born every 23 seconds, adding to a total growth rate of one million people per month in the Middle East. In the year 1900, Arab Christians made up about 20% of the local population. That number is now only about 4% across the region and continues to decrease in many areas. There are still sizable numbers of Christians in some countries, but many have limited or no access to discipleship or leadership training so local churches survive and thrive.

Americans Move to the Right on Moral Issues

According to Gallup's annual "moral acceptability" measure, updated in May, Americans have moved to the right on a handful of the 15 issues rated, including divorce, gambling, abortion and embryonic stem-cell research.

Polls: Majority of Americans are Pro-Life

A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and only 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

Abortion Doctor Killed

June 1, 2009 - While at his Wichita church Sunday morning, May 31st, late-term abortion doctor George Tiller was shot and killed. The 67-year-old man was shot at 10:03 a.m. in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church. Tiller was pronounced dead on the scene.

A New Revolution?

April 21, 2009 - Grassroots opposition to wasteful government spending and President Obama’s stimulus package culminated on April 15 with the biggest one-day protest so far. Fueled by groups such as the American Family Association (AFA), FairTaxKC and individual citizens, protestors will gathered in more than 1,000 U.S. cities for modern day “TEA (Taxed Enough Already) parties.” Kansas City’s two main events were at Liberty Memorial in Midtown Kansas City, and at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park.
